The Little Farmhouse in West Virginia, Written and Illustrated by Ginny Yurich

The Little Farmhouse in West Virginia 1000 HOURS OUTSIDE

I am thrilled to announce that my new children's book, The Little Farmhouse in West Virginia is available on Amazon and on BarnesandNoble.com! This book follows some of my childhood screen-free adventures at my Great Uncle's cattle farm in West Virginia.

As childhood has largely moved indoors over the past several decades,  The Little Farmhouse in West Virginia highlights the power and long-lasting impact of simple nature experiences for children. When I reminisce on my own childhood, what stands out the most are my memories in outside. I look back fondly on these simple moments, far from screens and often even far from toys. Research continues to show the incredibly diverse benefits children attain when they are allowed ample time to play freely outdoors. Children will love this story and the beautiful illustrations. As children get older you can use this book as a springboard for discussions as about the value of real-life experiences.

Some time back I asked a question to adults through our social media accounts about where their love for nature began. The responses were endearing and thought provoking. This book is my own personal response to that same question.
